Five news stories every day, in French you can follow at A1 level, for beginners.
Cinq nouvelles is a daily news show for learners of French. A presenter introduces each story, and five correspondents report on the day's news: the top world story, the top story from the United States, the top story from France, a feature on science, technology, health or another subject, and a human-interest story, sometimes a curious one, to finish on a lighter note.
Every story is written within the vocabulary and grammar of A1, in short, simple sentences, and the voices speak a little more slowly. When a word goes beyond that level, the correspondent explains it in simple French, so you can keep listening without stopping to look things up.
New episodes every day, seven days a week.
We work hard to make each episode interesting, easy to follow, and accurate. The stories are written from several sources. We use AI to write the drafts and produce the voices; that is what lets a small team make a news show every day at your level. A member of our team checks every episode before it is released.
